Research in Washington revealed a Good news
for wine loving diabetics! A new study had came out that claimed “If you have a
glass of red wine every night it will be beneficial for diabetes in managing your
cholesterol level and protecting their hearts”. The research was done on more
than 220 type 2 diabetics, and was conducted over the course of 2 years, which
shows who drank 150ml glass of red wine with dinner had higher levels of
so-called 'good cholesterol'.
However, on the contrary, the scientists has also highlighted that
if you are consuming more than a small glass or two in a day was still
considered very bad for health, and it might increase the risk of heart disease
and some cancers.
The study was led by Professor Iris Shai, and
it was said that the first long-term large scale alcohol trial suggests that by
initiating moderate wine intake, especially red-wine in your daily routine, between
well-controlled type 2 diabetes patients, and as part of healthy diet, it is
apparently safe and reduces cardio-metabolic risk.
The researchers from the Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev in Israel had carried out the study, along with the
experts from Harvard School of Public Health and Leipzig University.
The results are going to be presented at the
European Congress on Obesity in Prague
